  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The natural beauty of Hancock County and the water flowing gracefully down Nicatous Stream beats anything. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There aren’t any hotels right
    nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Nicatous Lake
to Pistol Green stretch is the only paddling stretch along Nicatous Stream.

Briefly about the general area:
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Nicatous Stream. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Nicatous Stream temperatures fall to the 0's. Nicatous Stream gets a great deal of water; most of the rain falls during November, and February is when it's the driest.
Nicatous Stream is right by the Eagle Lake Trail.
