You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. The wonderful Maine scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The Second Lake to Machias River section is the only paddling section along Old Stream. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if     you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
