Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the North Highway border to Saco River section is one of them. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. The campgrounds here at Ossipee River are pretty good. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll     have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.
