The scenic beauty of Oxford York County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. The North Highway border to Saco River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. There     are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The North Highway border to Saco River section of Ossipee River is 12.5 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 80's at Ossipee River with night lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows through the wintertime for Ossipee River tend to be in the 0's.
