West Rockport to Warren section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-IV 11.5 miles
The beautiful scenery of Maine and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Rockland, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby
but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is the only paddling section along Oyster River. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of
good rivers for that around here. This stretch of Oyster River is 11.5 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
