The natural beauty of Maine and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. The West Rockport to Warren section is the only paddling section along Oyster River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is     an area with plenty of places for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camping stuff. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs frequently are in the 70's at Oyster River. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; nighttime lows at Oyster River through the winter ordinarily descend into the 10's.
