The Bristol to Pemaquid section of Pemaquid River in Maine is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The Bristol to Pemaquid stretch is the only paddling stretch along Pemaquid River. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors     will have you coming back for more. The wonderful Lincoln County scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Pemaquid River. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. Briefly about the general area: Pemaquid River gets a good deal of water; through November this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Pemaquid Beach is in the vicinity of Pemaquid River and is a picturesque beach to stop by. Throughout the summer at Pemaquid   River highs are frequently in the 70's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Pemaquid River.
