This stretch of Pemaquid River in Maine is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners.
