The Dover-Foxcroft to Medford stretch of Piscataquis River in Maine is 27.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The campgrounds here at Piscataquis River are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,     and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
