  The Pleasant River Lake to Columbia Falls section of Pleasant River is 33.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. The natural beauty of Washington County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers in this
    state are not as hard as elsewhere. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in is not
too far from Bangor, as you can see on the road map further down. Now this is a pretty long section, so better bring your camping gear along. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Pleasant River Lake to Columbia Falls stretch is one of them. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Whether  
you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here.

Briefly about the general area:
Lots of folks from Columbia Falls come to Pleasant River; a good beach nearby is Jordan Beach. Throughout the months of summer at Pleasant River highs are regularly in the 70's, and the night is rather chillier of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Pleasant River all through the winter mostly fall into the 0's. Pleasant River is a quite wet place regularly with a great deal of precipitation.
