The Kokadjo to Moosehead lake stretch of Roach River is 6.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.     Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are no other sections to paddle along Roach River than the Kokadjo to Moosehead lake section. Briefly about the general area: On a fine day at Roach River you can take a hike along the Big Spencer Mountain Trail. The yearly precipitation here at Roach River is about average; the month with most of the rain is July, and February on the other hand is the driest. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Roach River, and the overnight is quite colder of course, typically in the 50's.
