Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The wonderful Piscataquis Penobscot County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
