If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Maine you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The nature scenery of Maine and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very     popular destination. There's camping available near Sebasticook River. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Clinton to Pattee Pond Brook stretch of Sebasticook River is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Sebasticook River; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and all through the dark hours   in the wintertime at Sebasticook River temperatures fall to the 0's. Sebasticook River gets a normal amount of precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture.
