Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Mainstream to Castle Harmony section is one of them. This stretch is short so     you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The scenic beauty of Somerset County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything.
