The beautiful scenery of Lincoln County and the water flowing gracefully down Sheepscot River make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Sheepscot River in Lincoln County is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maine is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This stretch is short so you'll     have to walk back to the start over and over. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: Sheepscot River gets a common amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls during November, and February is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the warm months here at Sheepscot River, high temperatures generally get into the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
