The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maine are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The nature scenery of Maine and the cool fresh water beats anything. If you're coming from Augusta-Waterville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a pretty short     section so no need to bring snacks. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Coopers Mills to West Branch section is just one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
