If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. This section of Sheepscot River is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The nature scenery of Waldo Lincoln County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. For     all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Sheepscot Pond to Somerville section is just one of many. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: Sheepscot River gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February. During the warmest time of the year at Sheepscot River temperatures are regularly in the 80's. All through the dark hours   of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Sheepscot River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
