Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. There are no other sections to paddle along St. Croix Stream than the Howe Brook to Aroostook     River section. The wonderful Maine scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners.
