  The scenic beauty of Maine and the cool fresh water have people coming here. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. This section of St. Francis River is 22 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other places. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive
    a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are no other sections to paddle along St. Francis River than the Beau Lake to Saint John River section.
Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.

Briefly about the general area:
The yearly rainfall here at St. Francis River is about average; most of the rain falls during August; the driest month is February. All through the summer months highs here at St. Francis River get into the 70's while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 10's, and overnight lows at St. Francis River during the winter generally sink into the-10's.
