The Woodsmans Mills to Warren stretch of St. George River in Maine is 30.3 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Rockland, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so make sure
you pack enough food along with your camping gear. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Maine and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons
enough to come here and paddle. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.
