The Above Pool to Androscoggin stretch of Sunday River in Maine is 8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The average     Maine whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are no other stretches to paddle along Sunday River than the Above Pool to Androscoggin stretch. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. The White Mountains scenery is wonderful.
