  The wonderful Franklin County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The put-in is not too far from Lewiston-Auburn, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're
    all set. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Drury Pond to Sandy River stretch is the only paddling stretch along Temple Stream. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Drury Pond to Sandy River section of Temple
Stream is 8.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
Temple Stream gets much water; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; February is when it's the driest. At Temple Stream through the summer highs are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Temple Stream are in the 0's.
Titcomb is a very popular ski area nearby.
