If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The Deasy Pond Outlet to East Br. Penobscot River stretch of Wassataquoik Stream in Penobscot County is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-V section. The wonderful Maine scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people
coming from far and near. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling stretch along Wassataquoik Stream.
