The Wytopitlock Lake to Mattawamkeag River stretch of Wytopitlock Stream is 17 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. There are no other sections to paddle along Wytopitlock Stream than the Wytopitlock Lake     to Mattawamkeag River section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
