Maryland whitewater - Beaver Creek, Washington County Washington county, Beaver Creek Park N Ride (I-70) to Alternate Route 40 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I(II)     4.5 miles   The average Maryland whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. If you're coming from Hagerstown-Martinsburg it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Washington County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll     find lots of paddling places. This stretch is mid length, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. This stretch of Beaver Creek in Maryland is 4.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I(II) section. There are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Summer at Beaver Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Beaver Creek nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
