The beautiful scenery of Cecil County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maryland are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip,     so pack your sleeping bag. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. The Pennsylvania Route 341 to Elkton section is the only paddling section along Big Elk Creek.
