And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The Pennsylvania Route 341 to Elkton section is the only paddling section along Big Elk Creek. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers     in this state are quite easy. The wonderful Cecil County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Big Elk Creek have people coming here.
