Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The Bond Road to Susquehanna River section of Deer Creek in Harford County is 43.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure.     A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The put-in location is a short drive from Lancaster, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The Bond Road to Susquehanna River section is the only paddling section along Deer Creek. Briefly about the general area: Deer Creek gets a typical amount of annual precipitation; June is the wettest month with most rain while February   is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The warmest time of the year at Deer Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 60's.
