If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Maryland you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. The natural beauty of Harford County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The Bond Road to Susquehanna River stretch of Deer Creek in Maryland is 43.5 miles long and it is classified as
a class I-III section by American Whitewater. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. There are no other stretches to paddle along Deer Creek than the Bond Road to Susquehanna River stretch. You
can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. If you're coming from Lancaster it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road
map further down.
