The wonderful Maryland scenery and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Maryland is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. of paddling spots. This stretch of Flintstone Creek in Allegany County is 3.5 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling section along Flintstone Creek. This is a
somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. If you're coming from Cumberland it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
