The nature scenery of City of Baltimore County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Maryland you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. nature will make you glad you came. The Lochearn to Franklintown Road section of Gwynns Falls is 4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Lodging is available near the river, and if
| you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Lochearn to Franklintown Road stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that.
