The Echodale Avenue to Sinclair Lane stretch of Herring Run in City of Baltimore County is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this     state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. If you're coming from Baltimore-Towson it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Echodale Avenue to Sinclair Lane stretch is the only paddling stretch along Herring Run. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
