This stretch of Hunting Creek is 2.5 miles long and is a class III-IV+(V) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Maryland scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is the only paddling stretch along Hunting Creek. The starting location is a short drive from Gettysburg,
there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're
gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.

along the High Rock Nature Trail. Hunting Creek is a good spot of normal rain; May is the wettest month with most rain; February is when it's the driest. This river is a great place to visit. For the duration of the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Hunting
Creek. For the period of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while Hunting Creek nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
