If you're coming from Baltimore-Towson it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Maryland are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to     spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The campgrounds here at Jones Falls are pretty good. The beautiful scenery of Maryland and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. The Lake Roland to Round Falls section is the only paddling section along Jones Falls. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Through   the warmest time of the year at Jones Falls highs are generally in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Jones Falls temperatures dip to the 20's.
