Maryland whitewater - Middle creek, Frederick County Frederick county, Wolfsville to Myersville section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III(V)     6.3 miles   This section of Middle creek is 6.3 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III(V) section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Frederick County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you're coming from Hagerstown-Martinsburg it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Maryland you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are safe     for beginners. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. This is the only paddling section along Middle creek. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Briefly about the general area: Summer at Middle creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Middle creek. From a rain point of view Middle creek is a relatively normal place; May is   when you get the most rain here; January is the month with the least moisture.
