The beautiful scenery of Maryland and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. If you'll be staying in a     hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Northeast Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the below covered bridge on Route 272 stretch is the only one. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: A short tour to Gilpins Falls is always worthwhile, and a tremendous beach close by is Roachs Shore. At Northeast Creek all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Northeast Creek   tend to be in the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Northeast Creek a wet place; August is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
