The starting location is a reasonable drive from Winchester, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. The I-68 to Potomac River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The I-68 to Potomac River stretch of Town Creek in Maryland is 27 miles long and has been rated as a class I section
by American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of -blank- County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river,
but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here.
