The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This stretch of Winters Run in Maryland is 13 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. The nature scenery of Harford County and the water flowing gracefully
down Winters Run beats anything. This is the only paddling section along Winters Run. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty
of spots for that. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Baltimore-Towson, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
