Cold River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Route 2 hairpin turn to Deerfield River section is the only one. The beautiful scenery of Massachusetts and the cool fresh water have people coming     here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: For the period of the warm months, highs generally are in the 70's at Cold River, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the   50's. Through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Cold River. Cold River gets a common amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout August while February is usually the driest month.
