Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. The put-in is not too far from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This section of Concord River in Middlesex County is 1.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have
to walk back to the start over and over. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The scenic beauty of Massachusetts and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people
prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. There are no other sections to paddle along Concord River than the Close to Lowell section. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
