The wonderful Massachusetts scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This section of Concord River in Massachusetts is 1.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III+(IV) section. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you
don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're
gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Massachusetts you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as hard as elsewhere. This is the only paddling section along Concord River.
