The South Road to Deerfield River section of Dunbar Brook in Massachusetts is 2.7 miles long     and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Dunbar Brook are pretty good. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The scenic beauty of Franklin / Berkshire County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. Dunbar Brook doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the South Road to Deerfield River stretch is the only one. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Dunbar Brook   get into the 70's while overnight lows are frequently in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Dunbar Brook are in the 10's. Dunbar Brook is a good spot of normal precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
