The scenic beauty of Franklin / Berkshire County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Dunbar Brook in Massachusetts is 2.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming
back for more. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There's camping available near Dunbar Brook. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Massachusetts are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep
in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The put-in location is a short drive from Bennington, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a somewhat short section so no need to bring snacks. This is the only paddling stretch along Dunbar Brook.
