The Otis Reservoir to Farmington River section of Fall River in Berkshire County is 0.9 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Pittsfield, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The wonderful Massachusetts scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. Great exercise
and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Massachusetts are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. You might be into
whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. There are no other stretches to paddle along Fall River than the Otis Reservoir to Farmington River stretch.

High temperatures at Fall River through the summertime are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Fall River dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
