The Lower New Boston section of Farmington River - West Branch is 2.25 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The natural     beauty of Massachusetts and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Massachusetts is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners.
