The beautiful scenery of Hampden County and the water flowing gracefully down Hoosic River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Massachusetts you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. This stretch of Hoosic River is 11.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-II section of whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camping stuff.
