Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The W Hartland Road to Route 20 stretch is the only paddling stretch along Hubbard River. Whether you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Hampden
County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
