The nature scenery of Berkshire County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The Mill River to Ashley Falls section of Konkapot Brook in Berkshire County is 11 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The
starting location is a short drive from Pittsfield, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This is the only paddling stretch along Konkapot Brook. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for
that around here. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Wild Cat Trail, and do take some time to visit Beartown State Forest if you're here. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Konkapot
Brook; the nighttime is rather colder of course, frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Konkapot Brook dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Konkapot Brook is a quite wet place commonly with lots of precipitation;
