The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. If you're coming from Pittsfield it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of     people coming here. Konkapot Brook doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Mill River to Ashley Falls section is the only one. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. The beautiful scenery of Berkshire County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile.
