The Halifax Vermont Gorge to Colrain section of North River is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came.     The Halifax Vermont Gorge to Colrain stretch is the only paddling stretch along North River. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Massachusetts are easier than the national norm, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip.
