The natural beauty of Franklin County and the water flowing gracefully down Pelham Brook are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Massachusetts is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end     up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Rowe Center to Deerfield River section is the only paddling section along Pelham Brook. If you're coming from Bennington it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: Pelham Brook gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Berkshire East is a very popular ski   area close by; Pelham Brook is right by the Dunbar Brook Trail. High temperatures at Pelham Brook all through the months of summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Pelham Brook.
