  The starting point is not too far from Willimantic, as you can see on the road map further down. The scenic beauty of Massachusetts and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Quaboag River is 5.5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Massachusetts is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great
    campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. This is a pretty decent length section,
good for a one day paddling trip. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Briefly about the general area:
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Quaboag River, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Quaboag River tend to be in the 10's.
The high level of rainfall makes Quaboag River a rather wet place; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February.
