Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Massachusetts are easier than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Willimantic, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Quaboag River is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-IV section. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Warren to Route 67 stretch is the only
paddling stretch along Quaboag River. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling
spots. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Lodging is available near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The natural beauty of Massachusetts and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile.
Briefly about the general area: Quaboag River gets a great deal of water; the wettest month of the year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most; February is the month with the least moisture. At Quaboag River all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the
80's, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Quaboag River.
