The Along Route 9 to North Branch Westfield River stretch of Swift River in Massachusetts is 1 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Swift River are pretty good. This is the only paddling section along Swift River. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large     number of good spots. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The natural beauty of Benzie County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Summertime highs at Swift River regularly tend to be in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. All through the winter highs are regularly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Swift River are in the 0's.
