The starting location is a reasonable drive from Springfield, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. Great exercise and just being out on the river     for a while have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is an extremely short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. There are no other sections to paddle along Swift River than the Along Route 9 to North Branch Westfield River section. Briefly about the general area: All through the summertime months, highs usually are in the 70's at Swift River while night lows are generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while Swift River nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's.
