The Cty 513 to Ramsay section of Black River is 6.7 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are some good hotels near     the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Gogebic Range scenery is wonderful. The Cty 513 to Ramsay section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Black River through the warm months are in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are usually in the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Black River drop into the-10's. Black River gets a common amount of rain; the wettest month of the   year is typically June, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest.
