The campgrounds here at Black River are pretty good. This section of Black River in Michigan is 2.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater paddling here in the Gogebic Range is a great experience. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This     is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: A short journey to Neepikon Falls is always worthwhile, and hey, Gotta ski right? Blackjack is a great site to do that. You'll truly wish for more hours   in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Gogebic Range. A trip to Black River wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Neepikon Falls. At Black River throughout the days of summer highs are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 10's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Black River.
