The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Michigan are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very demanding. The beautiful scenery of Michigan and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Narrows Park to Conglomerate Falls section of Black River in Michigan is 7.9 miles long and it is classified as
a class II-III+ section by American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay
the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Narrows Park to Conglomerate Falls section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. The wild scenery of the Gogebic Range is great.

Powderhorn Mountain. Through the months of summer at Black River highs are commonly in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's with temperatures at Black River dipping down into the-10's through winter nights.
