The Conglomerate Falls to Lake Superior section of Black River is 2.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V(V+) section. The average Michigan whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. Not too
many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Conglomerate Falls to Lake Superior stretch is just one of them. You can pitch a tent
or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.
