Says Dennis Eade If you're coming from Traverse City it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of Grand Traverse County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Michigan you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding.     There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. This section of Boardman River in Michigan is 0.5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Boardman River. This is an extremely short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. This is the only paddling section along Boardman River. Briefly about the general area: Boardman River gets a common amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. During the warm days of summer highs here at Boardman River reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures   are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Boardman River.
