This section of Carp River is 2.3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The nature scenery     of Marquette County and the water flowing gracefully down Carp River make the trip here worthwhile. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Briefly about the general area: An average amount of rain falls at Carp River; all through the month of September you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. What would winter be without some skiing at Marquette, and Marquette Bay is in the vicinity and   always nice to explore. Migisy Bluff is a good location to have a look at while in the area.
